Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) after a serious car accident initially left Sam with having multiple seizures each day, dystonia and violent shaking/tremors. An APEX NEURO client met Sam at a local neuro centre and pointed him in our direction and we were able to offer the specialised help he needed in understanding the patterns behind his FND symptoms.
Rob and Sam spent 5 days together, first working on improving the signalling which had been altered after his accident (often FND symptoms can present as a result of injury and protective patterns).
After the foundational work was completed, Sam was able to move into the gym to learn a specific method of training (we use this as a maintenance strategy to minimise reliance on us) and highlighted some final areas to work on (the involuntary shaking is not typical for this exercise - more data for Rob and Sam to understand what’s happening in his system).
