Multiple Sclerosis - Improving Dexterity, Grip & Finger Control
A lot of our content shows how we work with MS on the lower body - however we also work with MS clients whose upper body has been impacted, which primarily presents in changes in the hands/finger function, and limited range of motion in the upper body.
During his intensive with APEX NEURO, Rob and Frank split their focus between lower body, and dexterity in the hands and fingers, which impacts Frank’s fine motor skills and grip. Frank has found it difficult to get a flat, open palm, which helps grip larger objects, as well as release objects. This movement is important to every day life.
As you can see, Frank’s fingers are very responsive to the e-stim. Using a combination of the electrical current, and specific coaching, Frank is able to use his hands more efficiently achieving better dexterity, finger control and open-close of the grip.
