Multiple Sclerosis: from the Falkland Islands to the UK - 8 day MS intensive

Jorge (and his lovely wife) visited us from the Falkland Islands after seeing Cyndi’s success in our intensive MS rehabilitation programme. Over the 8 days Laura started by reducing spasticity which was restricting his movement and muscle control, allowing us to better understand his movement patterns and areas that need work.

Then they focused on muscle control, improving communication in primary muscles involved in walking and rebuilding his ability to lift his toes to minimise drop foot and tripping. He was then able to lift his toes voluntarily, allowing Laura to begin coaching him how to use the improved muscle control in walking.

Education and coaching is a huge part of our process as we don’t want clients to rely on the electrical stimulation. Jorge will continue to work with us remotely to keep making strides (literally) in his walking, stability and confidence.
