Tremors and involuntary movements are some of the most common FND symptoms we work with - these vary greatly in their presentation from person to person and often require deep investigation to understand the mechanisms driving them.
Regaining control over tremors can be key to regaining independent movement, often our clients find it difficult to impossible to walk as tremors can affect balance, gait and sometimes link to seizures.
FND differs from typical muscle tremors as the understanding is there is no damage under the surface - this is a brain-body communication issue. Many different things play into the presentation of the tremors, our job is to try and better understand these patterns to teach the client strategies to regain control.
