Functional Neurological Disorder: Regaining muscle control and sensation

  • 1 min read

Julia travelled from Spain to work with the APEX NEURO team after a lack of resolution for Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) symptoms (dystonia, tremors, seizures and loss of motor function/muscle control) which started after hitting her head.

Luke quickly determines Julia struggles to feel and control her lower limbs, as though there is a lack of connection to her leg muscles. Over the course of the week, they start to identify specific patterns in her responses which change her ability to feel and control the muscles, her eye movements, reducing the guarding and protective mechanisms and dystonia symptoms.

Julia will re-visit the clinic soon to keep working on the patterns and responses they started to ‘unlock’ during her first intensive.
