Multiple Sclerosis - Improving Balance when Fatigued
Multiple Sclerosis - Improving Balance when Fatigued
A common experience with Multiple Sclerosis is that as fatigue builds up (ie the further someone walks) the more their balance starts to become effected. Paul explains usually with fatigue his balance would be so impacted that he needs to find a bench or somewhere to rest. However, despite having worked hard and built up fatigue (this single leg movement is tough and demanding!) Paul is then able to stand on one leg for a significant amount of time.
“I can feel that I’m really tired, but I’m still really steady. Whereas normally, I’m tired and it gets worse… and I need to try and find a bench.”
This is the power of training - we are helping to build strength, increased capacity and endurance - including challenges like loading on a single leg!
