Multiple Sclerosis Rehab - Using the Stairs

1 min read

Multiple Sclerosis Rehab - Using the Stairs Rob has been using e-stim to improve Vlad’s muscle response and control, leading to working on using the stairs for the first time during his visit. Going up and down stairs relies on lower body and core strength, balance and a control of specific muscles. Sometimes, our clients can be their own toughest critics - focusing on how certain parts of the process aren’t quite perfect, yet. But that’s exactly what neurorehab is: a process.

Part of our job is to remind clients of ‘wins’ of any size - what is going well, while applying knowledge and observation to suggest ways to improve: what muscles to activate and when, the tempo, body positioning and weight distribution, the positioning of his feet, to name a few examples! This process is about acknowledging progress, while refining and improving. This is just a snapshot of the process - Vlad achieved many trips up and down the stairs and you can see how smoother and more upright he is get by the final part of this video. And for the record, if you do whisper with the mic on, we do hear it - but Rob’s reaction shows how much we love it.
